Flights
The closest major airport is the
Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport (ROA), which is about a 45-minute drive from campus. Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport offers a variety of major airlines to choose, including American Airlines, Delta Airlines, and United Airlines, and that allows you to get from your destination to the airport closest to the Virginia Tech campus. Many domestic and international gateways are just one stop from Roanoke and include cities such as Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, NYC/LaGuardia, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

Other Airports
Some participants might prefer to fly into Charlotte, North Carolina (CLT), a 3 hour drive to Blacksburg, or Dulles International Airport (IAD) near Washington, DC, a 4 hour drive.
Train and Bus
Alternatively, the Amtrak Roanoke Station is about a 1 hour drive from campus and has daily service to and from Washington, D.C., New York City and other cities.
Bus services like Greyhound and Megabus also have stops in Roanoke/Blacksburg with service to and from many cities.
Smartway bus from Roanoke to Blacksburg
The Smartway bus runs to and from the Roanoke airport and Amtrak station at Roanoke to Blacksburg. It costs 4$ one way and they only accept cash.
